Artificial Grass London
Spring brings with it a flurry of optimism as the temperature rises, we see blossom and new buds on the tree and a bit more colour in our gardens. However, the spring has its downside too – not least a rising to-do list.
If your garden has real grass, the chances are that your lawn hasn’t had any attention since at least October. So, come April, you know that you are in for a weekly ordeal of mowing, weeding, raking and trimming the edges.
The good news is that there is a solution, so you don’t have to spend so much time working in your garden. One of the biggest timesavers you can make is to install artificial grass for your London home: it won’t fade or scorch in summer, and there is no need to maintain it, so your lawn will look fantastic all year round.
With spring upon us and the bank holiday just days away, now is the ideal time to think about changing your lawn to artificial grass. By choosing fake turf, not only will this free up time to spend on other things (such as looking after your flower beds or tending to your vegetable patch) it is also the ideal time to consider a garden redesign so you can create the ideal outdoor space to enjoy summer and beyond. And, as fake grass looks so much like the real thing, no one will know the difference!

Here are some ideas on garden redesigns that are suitable for use with artificial grass so you can make most of your London garden this summer.
Create a children’s playzone – Youngsters are avid users of the garden and, if you have young children, what could be better for them than to create a play area with climbing equipment and/or a sandpit? Wooden climbing frames are eco-friendly and, as they are made of wood, they blend beautifully with outdoor spaces. You can buy small wooden climbing frames with a slide and sheltered area for a small garden, or more elaborate versions for bigger outdoor spaces.
Artificial turf is ideal for this space as it is soft to play on and extremely durable. It is completely child-friendly and you won’t get any worn out, muddy patches. And, if you have a child’s sandpit, your lawn will just need the occasional brush or hosing down to keep it looking good, all year round.
Have a children’s splash pool/swimming pool – If your dream is to have an outdoor swimming pool, or you already have one, artificial turf is the best option to have around the borders because it is so pool friendly.
For a start, it is chlorine resistant so your grass will keep its lush, green colour and won’t fade over time. As our fake grass is self-draining, you won’t get hazardous, wet, slippery mud patches around the pool area. Not only this, but fake turf stops your children trailing grass cuttings into the pool. So, as long as the chlorine levels are topped up, your water will keep its clear appearance.
Install a patio/wooden decked area – Having an alfresco dining area is one way to bring the indoors outdoors and will extend the use of your garden. It also creates a space for entertaining and, if you also install a patio heater, you can have get-togethers almost all year round.
If your gathering of guests spills out into the lawned area, Dayco artificial grass is extremely hardwearing, so it will withstand a considerable amount of footfall. So, it’s another excuse to entertain more often!
Have a barbecue – If you enjoy entertaining, you may feel your outdoor space is not complete without a barbecue. If you want to make a feature of your barbecue, brick built varieties look stunning and means you can cook outside almost any time of the year.
If there is not enough room on the decking or patio area and some of your guests prefer to sit on the lawn to eat, artificial grass is much cleaner than real grass, so it is a great solution for those who love to socialise. It also gives your visitors an excuse to dress up to party as they won’t get grass clippings or stains on light clothing.
Enjoy the tranquillity of a garden pond – A pond or waterfall makes a beautiful feature, even in the smallest of gardens. By having fake turf, you will have more time to spend on maintaining your pond, feeding the fish and keeping the water clear of debris and falling leaves.
Bridges or stepping stones over ponds, perhaps combined with outdoor lights, will really highlight this area. And on the wettest of days, you won’t have to worry about muddy areas around the pond as fake grass is self-draining.
Maintain your flower beds – You might want to use the time that you don’t spend on mowing your lawn on weeding and maintaining your flower beds, or cultivating a vegetable patch.
Whether you have paved areas and planters around your lawn, or well-stocked flower beds, you can use the extra 36 minutes it takes to mow the average lawn in giving your garden a burst of colour and greenery. Another great reason to invest in artificial grass for your London home!
